Cowboy Bebop, Kauboi Bibappu is a Japanese TV anime series created by Sunrise. Written by Keiko Nobumoto and directed by Shinichiro Watanabe. It consists of 26 episodes (called "sessions") and one feature-length film.
A great commercial success both in Japan and internationally, notably in the United States.
Sony Pictures released the Cowboy Bebop movie, "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" to theatres worldwide, and followed up with an international DVD release. Read on as we have a quality Cowboy Bebop video for you to watch online soon.
Two Cowboy Bebop manga series were adapted based on the anime, as well as two video games, one each for the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 consoles.
So what's it all about? The futuristic adventures of an easygoing bounty hunter Spike Spiegel (expert martial artist) and his partners. He has a dark, troubled past, lives on bounty to bounty, barely making it each time, or not making it at all.
His partners Jet Black, Faye Valentine, Ed and Ein the dog all help him in his adventures from planet to planet in the year 2071.
In the slang of the era, "Cowboys" are bounty hunters. Along the way, the bad guys are in for a load of hurt and frustration from these characters.
Cowboy Bebop is massively influenced by American music, especially the jazz movements of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s and the early rock era of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Many of its action sequences, from space battles to hand-to-hand martial arts combat, are set and timed to music.

So is it popular? What's everyone saying? A poll in the Japanese magazine Newtype USA asked its readers to rank the "Top 25 Anime Titles of All Time"; Cowboy Bebop placed second behind Neon Genesis Evangelion. Cowboy Bebop was voted by IGN in 2006 as having the greatest soundtrack for an anime.
