Japanese Manga Pictures
We all know Japanese Manga art has taken the West by storm, and we all enjoy our different favourites. We Otaku read and devour endless volumes of comics, cartoons, graphic novels and books.
But what did the Japanese fans themselves vote as the top 10 of all time?
For the 10th anniversary of the Japan Media Arts Festival (2006), fans were asked to vote on the top ten best of all time. Over 80,000 votes were received in the anime category, and just under 79,000 in the manga category. People were allowed to vote for up to 10 titles.
The Top 10 Hot Manga are:
1. Slam Dunk
2. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
3. Dragon Ball
4. Fullmetal Alchemist
5. Doraemon
6. Phoenix
7. Black Jack
8. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
9. Mushi-shi
10. Death Note
So as much as we love Naruto, Bleach and Fruits Basket in the west, they never made it onto Japan's best list. Seems we all agree on Death Note though (just).
