Super Smash Bros Brawl is a soon to be released fighting game to be published by Nintendo for the Wii console. The game is known in Japan as Dairanto Smash Brothers X.
The game can also be pre-ordered from here for the USA, as well as from here for the UK. However remember that Europe's release will be some time behind Japan and the US. Smash is being pre-ordered rapidly worldwide, and it is recommended you get your order in quickly. I know we will.
We have decided to buy a USA version Wii console, in order to enjoy games like Super Smash Bros Brawl in advance of European release. We almost always tend to receive games and DVD releases late in the UK and Europe compared to Japan and the US.
The rumours have been circulating for ages, but now it's official: One of the world's most famous video game characters, Sonic The Hedgehog, Sega's official mascot for the past 15 years, will spin dash his way into Nintendo's Wii Super Smash Bros. Brawl this winter.
The Japanese blue bullet, whose Smash appearance has been most desired dashes in from far away at supersonic speed. Sonic the Hedgehog crashes headlong into battle!
It's a brawling, battling, action-packed video game that features a varied roster of characters for four-player simultaneous melees! Has the entire Brawl gang been assembled, or are there even more surprises in store for one of Nintendo's most anticipated titles?
Video game’s finest are assembled for the most star studded fighting game ever.
The music is assembled by an astounding line up of famed musicians. The official site, Smash Bros. DOJO!! states:
"Seriously?! To have so many of these individuals providing music for a single work may very well be an historic event in the history of video-game music! It's almost unthinkable! Of course, Smash will let you enjoy music from a wide variety of Nintendo games. A number of individuals have put their touch on these arrangements..."
"Using the game music that has entertained so many as the base for new arrangements by so many famed musicians... Not too shabby, eh?..."
Apart from Sonic, other playable characters include:
Meta Knight, the sword-wielding nemesis of Kirby
Pit, the angelic archer from Kid Icarus
Zero Suit Samus, the powerful Metroid series heroine minus her versatile armour
Wario and his noxious attacks of gastronomic proportions
Snake, the gritty soldier from Konami's hugely popular Metal Gear series

Nintendo's next-generation gaming system is a far cry from their previous consoles - and possibly every other console out there!
This compact but powerful next-gen console was previously announced under the name "Revolution" before being changed to Wii, a name meant to evoke a sense of community (i.e., "we").
The uniqueness of Wii starts with its controller, called the Wii Remote. This one-handed, wireless (via Bluetooth) controller resembles a remote control, but is able to do much, much more.
When rotated 90 degrees, the Wii Remote can be used like a standard Nintendo gamepad, with a D-pad and various buttons at the gamer's fingertips, which allows for control of classic games, available through an online channel called the Virtual Console. However, the big innovation for the Wii Remote is its revolutionary interactive functions.
The Wii Remote contains an accelerometer, which allows it to sense linear motion along three axes, as well as tilt. The controller can also be used as a "light gun", and features force-feedback and even its own internal audio speaker capable of an enhanced depth of sound field.
What this means is that the Wii Remote allows the gamer to control onscreen action in an entirely new way.
If your onscreen character wields a sword, moving the Wii remote through three-dimensional space will cause the character to swing their sword. Various add-ons can be attached to the Wii Remote, creating further gameplay options.
A Nunchuk controller allows players to practice more dynamic movement with the Wii Remote, and a "Zapper shell" can be attached to further enhance the controller's light gun capabilities.
The Wii is also backwards compatible with the Nintendo Gamecube, and even has ports for Gamecube controllers and memory cards. Built-in Wi-Fi allows the gamer to connect to either their Nintendo DS or the Internet, which can also be accessed via a USB-to-Ethernet adaptor.
The system's operating interface is also unlike any other: it's designed to resemble television channels, which can be customized by the user.
Channels can be designated to boot the loaded game disc, play selected Virtual Console games, access the Internet, create a personalized avatar for online play and communication, and many more functions.
The US Version of the Wii console comes bundled with Wii Sports, a collection of sports games designed to take advantage of the Wii Remote's innovative motion-sensing capabilities.
Use the Wii Remote to swing a golf club, baseball bat, or tennis racket - and that's just the beginning for the imaginative gameplay opportunities provided by the Wii and its remote!
